This winter, Target very stealthily purchased 7.9 acres of land in the southeast Bronx. The plan, according to The Real Deal, is to build a 300,000-square-foot mall. Target already has several Bronx locations, so this isn't new territory for them, but they were still oddly sneaky about it: Property records list the site purchaser's name as "Lafayette Nominee Owner LLC," although the address is Target's Minneapolis headquarters.
