Looks like New York's first-ever stand-alone NARS shop is opening one day ahead of schedule: Wednesday, February 9th or as some may call it, Fashion Week Eve. WWD gives us a sneak peak at the Bleecker Street shop, which boasts 600 square feet of space and a custom "tricked out" interior designed by Interview magazine editorial director Fabien Baron.

The store will serve as an experimental space for future stand-alone shops so expect some custom and unique details, including a specially lit mirrored wall and easily accessible sliding trays for Nars make-up artists to give demos. There is also a fancy-sounding fireplace and white bookshelf arrangement that features François Nars' faves, including DVDs such as Funny Girl and Belle de Jour and tomes such as All About Eve and Elsa Schiaparelli's biography bound in pink. There's a theme here—Nars created a matching nail polish named after the legendary designer.
Also expect exclusives, including: "413 Bleecker," an appropriately-monikered $25 lipstick, and a limited-edition $125 handmade bento box set that features two Kabuki cups holding "hand-poured" and "highly pigmented" lip colors and a lip brush. There will only be 100 of those puppies available.
More exciting news: Nars is working on exclusive collabs with his Bleecker Street neighbor and good friend Marc Jacobs. Ideas are still in the works, but WWD gave us this teaser: "fingerless Marc Jacobs gloves to match Nars nail polish colors." Yes, please! If you think about it, the Bleecker Street shopping corridor offers lots of collaboration opportunities. May we suggest teaming with Magnolia Bakery for peach-frosting topped "Orgasm" cupcakes?
