This weekend's N.Y./Region section in the Times highlights Tribeca discount store Lot-Less Closeouts in a sort of low-end Critical Shopper profile. What we learn: Lot-Less Closeouts is not a 99-cent store, although it does carry items for 99 cents. Its busiest time is between noon and 2pm on weekdays, when office workers swarm the shop on their lunch breaks, but it also does a brisk trade with tourists on the weekends. And perhaps most importantly, Lot-Less is not affiliated with its neighbor Less Less, so don't even try to return a Less Less purchase there. [NYT]
