Best Face Forward: Surviving NYFW With C.O. Bigelow

Welcome to Pimp Your Product, a new feature in which we ask retailers to tell us about their favorite current items according to a weekly theme. Want us to harness the collective power of NYC's shopkeepers to solve your own sartorial problems? Suggest a topic at tips@racked.com.

New York Fashion Week might only last from February 10 through the 17, but by the end of it, attendees often wind up looking like they've been awake for a month straight. While it might be impossible to get a full night's sleep, though, there are always tricks of the trade to make it appear as if you were catching up on your z's while in reality you were catching up with Johnny Walker at Don Hills.

We asked Ian Ginsberg, proprietor of C.O Bigelow, the oldest apothecary in America, to recommend his five favorite in-store items for weary industry insiders—or anyone else who's anticipating a tough mid-winter week.

1.) Ms. & Mrs. Mini Emergency Kit These mini-kits provide 16 necessities for beauty and personal care needs—everything from dental floss to extra earring backs. It's the best way to plan for any and all potential fashion mishaps.

2.) GO Smile Touch Up Ampoules: An "anytime, anywhere" touch-up, the ampoules will whiten your teeth and provide fresh breath in minutes. Also, they'll give you the chance to use the word "ampoules" in conversation, and how often does that happen?

3.) Frais Skin Revitalizing Towelettes: These multi-purpose cloths instantly clean, calm, and hydrate skin. The natural botanicals help wake you up, while the shea butter softens and soothes to help relax tension in the face (so that even if you feel stressed, you won't look it.) These are great for all skin types and are strong enough to remover waterproof makeup if necessary.

4.) Foucaud Gel Jambes Toniques: This stimulating leg gel contains a blend of natural extracts and essential oils to provide immediate relief for tired legs. Just slather it on—no massaging necessary—then wait for a strong warm/cold sensation, which should leave you with some relief and a newly optimistic approach to your favorite pair of heels.

5.) Hollywood Tape Fashionista Flats When you need a break from the stilettos, try this portable pair of cute flats. The black patent pair is available in three sizes and can fit in a purse.
