New York City has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some of the city's shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around our fantastic island (and beyond) that we might not all know about. Cue The Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Today's subject is Andrew Mukamal, one-time Kelly Cutrone assistant and Kell on Earth star and current Seventeen magazine editor. Despite his day job, Mukamal also managed to style two shows this Fashion Week: Katie Ermilio and Asher Levine. He also somehow found time to tell us about one of his favorite shopping destination. While his outfits are always cutting edge, it turns out this Proenza-loving kid isn't afraid to get his in touch with his inner leather-clad beast.
"I may have to go out on a limb and say that The Leather Man is my most inspiring store in New York. The first floor is packed with an unbelievable variety of bondage-inspired jewlery and latex clothing in addition to every type of leather clothing you can imagine (and if they don't have it on the floor, they'll be happy to make it for you in any color in a matter of days). The basement is fully stocked with every type of S&M accessory you've ever dreamed of (from cock rings, face masks and chain-mail boxer shorts to leather jock straps and teddy bears). The staff has been there for ever and the guys are super sweet and helpful. Leave your inhibitions at the door and let your fantasies run wild."—Yale Breslin
