Jon Caramanica heads to the new Brooks Brothers in Flatiron to confront the question: "To pop, or not to pop your collar?" He decides that "an unpopped collar is like an unloved woman: a tragedy. Mind you, no members of the sales staff had their collars popped, but it felt more like an act of restraint than a statement of style." He also spotted ties displayed as belts and a burgundy puffy vest paired over a rugby over a striped button-down shirt, "an update of how I wanted to dress in college." [NYT]
