Stock Up On $35 Denim at Mavi

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

It's a good week for denim sales. While James Jeans is hosting a loft full of deals in Tribeca, Mavi has taken up to 75% off men's and women's jeans in its midtown showroom. The goods are housed past the receptionist's desk in the back of the space. Men's items can be found on the left-hand side, and women's items on the right. There is no formal changing room, but ask the employees and they will lead you to a semi-private corner of the floor with mirrors.

Racks of jeans and coats line the walls, while boxes of tee shirts and accessories are arranged on tables. The racks are organized by size only, and styles are all mixed in together. For women, expect to see a full range of sizes from 24-32 in denim. Light and dark washes are available in straight, skinny and flared cuts. There are also jegging and corduroy styles available, with a few pairs of bright colored denim as well. All jeans are priced at $35 for both men and women. Men's jeans come in sizes 29-40 in mostly dark washes. Cuts for men come in straight leg, boot cut and skinny tapered legs.

On the coat rack, we found the standard plaid, grey, navy and black colors in mid-length jackets. Though not listed on the price poster, women's jackets range from $30 to $60 depending on fabric and weight. Men's jackets are all $60, and we found bomber and military styles in that section.

You'll find summer shift styles and floral baby dolls among the women's dresses, all $25. Women's tees come in basic colors in a crew-neck, three-quarter-length-sleeve style, as well as classic tank form, and are priced at $10. Men have a selection of shirts for $20 in plaid, stripes and gingham. Among the accessories, tote bags and belts were for sale for $10, scarves for $7, and bracelets and headgear for $5.

Check the price list for more details on pricing, everything is organized and easy to navigate. The sale will be re-stocked as needed, but no new styles will be put out. Cash and credit cards are accepted, and you get a free canvas tote with your purchase.
