The Tibi sample sale opened its doors this morning to eager shoppers waiting in a short line. There was a bag and coat check at the entrance, up the hallway from the retail space. inside, merchandise is organized by price and sorted by bins or racks. The bins are categorized by size in the following units: swim separates for $15, cover ups for $25, and sweaters for $75 or $125. The racks hold all other merchandise, with a price listed on the front of each rack. Toward the back of the floor is a communal changing area with a few mirrors, and curtains for privacy.

We started with the $350 rack, where we ran into a full length leather and suede trim coat with button detailing. On this rack we also found an olive green wool trench coat, a suede waistcoat, and a wool- and fur-trimmed jacket. At the $300 mark, there's an animal print/paint splatter coat, a leather jacket, and a two-toned suede and leather jacket. There are also silk pleated maxi dresses and silk embroidered dresses at the same price point. A standout piece is a butter-soft pair of tan suede shorts.

For $225, we found a black one-shoulder dress with a beaded and shell-embellished shoulder. This rack is mostly filled with printed silk dresses and skirts. The $200 price point served us well too. There's a cream-colored wool coat with brown leather piping around the collar and pockets and clasp buckle details. In the same color we saw a silk vest with embellished shoulders that also came in black. There are also some trousers for sale at this price, and blazers as well.

The $165 rack had short jackets, and silk and sweater dresses. A blush-toned sheer-sleeve silk dress caught our eye, as did a nude silk shift dress. For $145, we ran in to lots of fun, printed long- and short-sleeve blouses and printed silk chiffon pleated skirts. There are a few print motifs at the sale, our favorites being the animal print/paint splatter and one that looks like a vintage floral scarf.

We stopped by the $125 rack and picked up an open-knit, long-sleeve sweater dress. There are a few styles of cropped chunky knit sweaters hanging on this rack, as well as silk mini-skirts. The $115 rack mostly had short party dresses, and wool and corduroy shorts. At the $75 price point we mostly found mini skirts and basic blouses. We also found a crochet panel tan skirt for this price.

Somehow we almost managed to skip over the shoe section entirely because there are a pile of about twenty shoe boxes on the floor near the exit. A handful of styles are offered, and all pairs are runway shoes priced at $50. However we were not disappointed when we stopped by and spotted a pair of yellow snake-skin lace-up oxfords. There were more styles of sandals and some styles of heels. The sizes we saw were strictly between 8 and 10. Also near the shoes, there was a bin on the floor full of samples, all for $100. We dug around and fished out a few skirts, dresses and sweaters from this bin.

For clothing options on the racks, sizes in stock were XS-L, and 0-12. There is backstock to replenish sizes, but no new styles will be put out. The Tibi sale offers up a great selection of prints, silks and outerwear at every price point they offer. Everyone can find something, if not pick an entire spring wardrobe ahead of time, at this sale.—Apneet Kaur
