Last month, a tipster sent in a photo of a "coming soon" Bottega Veneta on Madison Avenue, in the former Sonia Rykiel spot next to Tom Ford. Today, WWD reports that the new Bottega is actually a women's-only store, and that it's now officially open.
Even though it's devoted to a single sex, that doesn't mean that Bottega has skimped on the details— the walls are covered in suede and the door handles are covered in leather. Bottega President and CEO Marco Bizzarri says, "On Fifth Avenue, we have a flagship that showcases the complete collection, and on Madison Avenue we have a boutique dedicated to a specific customer in the neighborhood where she lives and shops." A specific customer indeed.
The new store has already received the brand's resort collection (others will get it on November 15) and will carry one-of-a-kind designs and exclusives, like the $3,250 Fire Opal Franges Nappa bag. Also stocked is the $21,800 non-exclusive Treccia Plume leather Cocco Lave Cabat bag.
