In this week's edition of Critical Shopper, Alexandra Jacobs takes on C. Wonder. And it kind of reminds her of someone: founder Chris Burch's ex, Tory. She thinks it "mirror[s] Tory's preppy style: go-to-hell colors, nautical flourishes, trim but conservative cuts. It's unclear whether this is an amicable homage or a hostile takeover." She finds other things that remind her of Chanel, Goyard, and Longchamp, but takes a better liking to the home goods. "The tableware on offer includes heart-shaped waffle-makers for your favorite honeymooners, and gold-edged ikat-printed plates for when they start hurling the crockery." [NYT]
