Theory's women's sale opened its doors to the public at noon today—a day earlier than their scheduled date of November 30. Fall merchandise is up to 65% off and there is a wide variety of items to choose from.
We couldn't help but think holiday party wardrobe at this year's sale. Beautiful jewel-toned sleeveless dresses, velvet pants in navy, silk blouses, and chiffon black jumpsuits will make you want to accept every holiday party invitation you get.
Immediately upon entering the sale, you'll see a wide variety of sweaters displayed on the wall. Sweater coats, long cardigans, tunics, pullovers are priced between $79 and $119 and cashmere sweater dresses are $129. Clothingline won't allow shoppers to try on the sweaters, so it is helpful to know your sweater size and the exchange policy before stopping here. Sweaters are pulled by staff standing behind tables; you'll find your pick for you at the checkout.
Sizes run from 00 to 12 and a good selection of merchandise is represented throughout. The range of leather items available this year was a nice surprise. We found a super cute, short black leather skirt with a knitted waistband, leather sleeveless tops in black and bone, black leather sleeveless dresses, and black leather wide-legged and skinny pants, all priced at $299.
Down puffer coats are available with or without fur, as are patchwork wool coats in rust and ecru all for $299. All blouses are $79 and can be found in brown, black, navy, cream, and green with or without sleeves—perfect for wearing with a blazer or to a party.
The racks are plentiful with Theory's pants ($99), blazers ($159), and sleeveless wool dresses ($129) in case you need some basic staples for your wardrobe. There are fewer skirts this year ($89) to pair with the blazers.
If you are expecting a wide range of Theyskens' Theory at this sale, you will be disappointed. There are only a few racks of pants, tops, and t-shirts available, so it might be better to wait for the official Theyskens' Theory sale in mid-December.
Final logistics: You are required to check your bags and coats before entering the sale and there is a 10-item-per-person limit for the changing room. Also, once you leave the changing area, you're not allowed back in without having to wait in line again, so be prepared to make some tough choices.—Pam Krywy
