For her new book It Chooses You, famously twee performance artist Miranda July interviewed people selling off their unwanted possessions in the PennySaver classifieds. When the book came out two weeks ago, she took the reselling angle a step further, setting up a pop-up inside Andy Spade's high-concept storefront Partners & Spade.
The shop carries merchandise July bought from New Yorkers on Craigslist—items like old Scrabble tiles, a clown needlepoint, and half-used art supplies. Each one comes packaged with an interview July conducted with its former owner. If you want to actually purchase a piece, though, you might be a little late. The 6th floor reports that nearly everything sold out 45 minutes after the exhibit opened.
