One sure harbinger of the holiday shopping season is the arrival of Lucky Shops, which is scheduled to run this weekend starting Friday, November 4th and running through Sunday, November 6th. The event is basically Lucky magazine come to life: A marketplace filled with young, cool, highly shoppable labels, all of which have taken up to 70% off their merchandise.
For years, the festivities used to take place at the Metropolitan Pavilion, but this time around the organizes are shaking things up by moving things a couple blocks west to Highline Stages in the Meatpacking District. Other new developments this year include at least three different flavors of discounts: "Lucky You" Rewards, which are points earned by shopping, Lucky breaks deals, in which designers pick one item to discount, and on-site flash sales announced throughout the weekend.
The Lucky Shops website has full details, including a list of vendors ranging from Charlotte Ronson to Elizabeth & James to Rebecca Minkoff. Tickets range in price from $16 to $150, and a chunk of proceeds will go to support Baby Buggy, which helps families in need. (Buy them here.) Want to know more about what to expect?
