Lower East Side stalwart Suite Orchard appears to be closed after four years on the corner of Orchard and Rivington. Bowery Boogie reports that the doors are locked, the windows are obscured, and a peek inside the shop reveals an empty space. Other grim evidence: Recently, a "For rent" sign from Misrahi realty has appeared on the second floor of the building, and a broker has listed the space on Craigslist (the listing is now down.)
There's no mention of the abrupt closing on Suite Orchard's Twitter, Facebook, or Tumblr, and although we reached out to the owners for comment three days ago, we haven't heard back. It's probably time to consider this one another Lower East Side casualty. In retrospect, this is probably why the blowout sale a few weeks ago was reportedly so good.
