Denim Habit only opened their Meatpacking store a month ago, but last Friday, one popped up at 525 Third Avenue in Murray Hill, and this Friday, another will arrive further up at 1335 Third Avenue, between 76th and 77th Streets. WWD reports that both stores are only about half the size as the Meatpacking store, which if you remember, was once believed to possibly be a Lady Gaga store. (It isn't.)
The company carries premium denim lines like J Brand, DL1961, and Hudson, as well as ready-to-wear and a lot of colored denim. President and CEO Wayne Shulick tells WWD: "I wasn't completely sold on colored denim, but it's on fire, has turned out to be huge and looks like it will continue." It's apparently doing well enough, as Denim Habit reports that 43% of all their sales are jeans. No word on the color-to-blue ratio.
