Cobble Hill boutique Smith & Butler loves hosting pop-up shops, and designer showcase The Shiny Squirrel loves popping up places, so it was only a matter of time before the two came together. Their shared endeavor officially launches tonight, but the merchandise—mainly jewelry—was already on display when we dropped in yesterday. Standouts included a chunky crystal ring by Andy Lifschutz, spike earrings by Elizabeth Knight, and leather cuffs by Cold Picnic. Shiny Squirrel maven Jessica Goldfond explains that she plans to rotate the merchandise over the two months that the pop-up will be open, so we'll have to stop back again.
The mini-store has a heavy social media component: Goldfond has put together a Svpply set for the pop-up, blogger White Lightning has contributed a collaboration with Dirty Librarian Chains, and menswear blogger (and Svpply employee) Marisa Zupan of The Sig Other will be taking photos at tonight's party. Also, look out for giveways via Svpply, Twitter, and Refinery29. And! If you win the bow-tie tying contest at tonight's event, you can walk off with a bow-tie of your very own. It all begins at 6pm on the corner of Smith and Butler—the boutique's name is also its address.
