The Bonpoint sample sale opens to the public today at the Metropolitan Pavillion, but yesterday, the fancy childrenswear brand held a VIP preview for special moms only. Mizhattan headed over to see what miniature merchandise was up for grabs, and what she found was a lot of really adorable things, most of which are marked down to 60% off.
The sale is organized according to age group (newborns to 12-year-olds), and she spotted lots of "itsy bitsy cashmere cardigans" and the "chicest puffer coats"—for kids, mind you. So how much will a really small, chic puffer coat set you back? $178, which isn't totally nuts considering they retail for over $500. Other finds included corduroy and denim for around $50, a tiered plaid miniskirt for $64, and cardigans for around $60.
In the shoe department, she found Bonpoint's Mary Janes for $48, and a very dapper pair of Tod's Junior loafers for $122. But lest you think this was just a sample sale for everyday expensive children's wares, there were Halloween costumes present. She reports: "In the center of the room, there was a delightful surprise of Halloween costumes. For your lovely princess, there were tiaras & magic wands. While for your princes, there were medieval knight costumes with wooden swords & shields."
The sale runs through 3pm tomorrow, so better get there soon if you've got little ones with expensive taste to shop for.
