J.Crew might not be moving to Cobble Hill any time soon, but the stretch of Court Street between Pacific and Dean is about to get another big-name retailer—and this one probably makes a lot more sense in the neighborhood. Moscot, the iconic Manhattan eyewear shop, just signed a lease at 159 Court Street. In a nice bit of nerd-chic synergy, the space sits directly next door to literary powerhouse BookCourt.

The Moscot family is closely associated with the Lower East Side, where they've run a shop on Delancey Street since 1936. But the third generation was actually born and raised in Brooklyn, so the new space represents a homecoming of sorts. Look for the boutique to open in time for the holidays.
