American Apparel's beef with performance artist Nancy Upton has ended, but not happily. Last month, Upton won American Apparel's plus-sized modeling contest with a series of mocking photos. When the company refused to acknowledge her as the winner, they were deluged with bad press, so they flew her out to LA to talk things over. Upton left the visit feeling like she'd really gotten through to AA's creative directors, but then one of them sent her a friendly follow-up email admitting that they could "hardly remember" anything Upton had said to them. At least they're honest? [That's Not Our Demographic]
