Last week, The Shop at the Standard installed its latest artist edition, adding San Francisco's Jeff Canham to a list that includes names like KAWS and Ryan McGinness. Canham used to be the art director of Surfer magazine, but he's also studied traditional sign-painting. For the Standard, he drew on both sides of his art background, creating a series of beachy pennants inspired by the semaphore flags used by sailors. Each flag corresponds to one letter of the alphabet, and all 26 will be on display at the Standard through November. A few are also available online: Right now, you can buy "D," "G," and "K" for $250 each on the Standard's website.
