Within a month, the stretch of Orchard Street between Broome and Grand will be seeing some changes. Menswear shop By Robert James is moving one door over to 74 Orchard, and London-based jewelry brand The Great Frog will be taking over its space at 72 Orchard. The Great Frog refers to itself as the "originator of skull rings," and has a rock 'n' roll celebrity clientele of Motorhead, Mötley Crüe, and Iron Maiden members pushing its product. And Nikki Sixx calls it the best jewelry shop in London, "hands down."
The boutique is slated to open on November 1st, and will share its location with Cobra Guitars. Great Frog proprietor Christopher Thompson told The Lo-Down, "I always thought the Lower East Side would be a natural place for us, being the birthplace of punk." The brand was born in London in the '70s, and currently only has one other U.S. store—appropriately, in Los Angeles.
