Carhartt, the age-old workwear line (think more construction site than Milk Studios), has partnered with menswear designer (and husband of Leelee Sobieski) Adam Kimmel for a new collaboration, which will make its NYC debut this May at Barneys New York Manhattan flagship stores.
What you can expect: A total of 29 pieces consisting of clothing and accessories, including everything from denim, moleskin, and cotton twill pants, to flannel shirts, duffel and tote bags, and cotton beanies. Among the highlights are a quilted moleskin blazer, a canvas artist coat, and a brushed cotton-lined denim shirt, with key colorways in husky deep blue, indigo, gray, and black. The price tag: Anywhere from $70 to $600.
For Kimmel, it seems like a bromance made in heaven. He tells WWD:
I've worn Carhartt since I was 10 years old and for me it's a chance to expand my business in a romantic way. Carhartt is an American heritage brand and it's really maintained the integrity and quality of the product and kept a focus on their core customer over the years. This is the perfect marriage. And here's the kicker: "Kimmel changed the color scheme of the exterior Carhartt logo from the usual gold and deep crimson to a navy blue and red," reports WWD. Changing up a logo and altering an already-established moniker must really mean love. Hope there's a pre-nup.
