Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

This morning, InStyle broke the news that Target's next collaboration will be with Calypso St. Barth. Like the Liberty collab, the collection will include clothing and housewares, though unlike Liberty, there won't be any menswear available. Look for a May 1st launch, with everything priced between $1.99 to $79.99.

But as The Cut points out, those William Rast pieces are still hanging out on the Target racks, looking all California cool but secretly nursing feelings of rejection under their tough leather exteriors. And as far as we can tell, the Calypso news hasn't been greeted with the usual hysteria, even though it's a massively beloved brand. Does this mean designer collaborations have peaked?
