New York City has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some of the city's shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around our fantastic island (and beyond) that we might not all know about. Today's subject is fashion designer and consultant Shelly Bromfield, a gal who loves her accessories. Bromfield has made a name for herself as the Design/Inspiration Director for Donna Karan for over twenty years, but she's also known as a larger-than-life fashion industry personality. Since she's always draped in jewels—see for example this Style Like U profile—we thought she'd know of a good hidden shop for baubles and trinkets. Luckily, she obliged: "The biggest and best place to shop for accessories and those special one-of-a-kind ready-to-wear pieces and jewelry is Mon Amour Paris Accessories in Murray Hill. This is definitely a gem for both jewelry and accessories."—Yale Breslin
