Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
My Upper West has some tragic photos of the 66th Street Barnes & Noble, which closed its doors for good yesterday. Above, workers peel the sign off the façade. Click through for some pictures of the cleaned-out interior, which will remain empty until Century 21 takes over.
Update: A tipster sends in this photo of the sign being carted away on a truck. It doesn't get more final than that, folks.
