Michelle Obama wore a white Rachel Roy sheath to last night's State of the Union address. Her choice presumably pleased Oscar de la Renta, who called out the First Lady for not supporting American designers after she wore Alexander McQueen to a state dinner with Chinese leaders. Of course, it would have been really awkward for her to wear a non-American designer, given that her husband's speech emphasized developing our national competitive power on a global stage.
