Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Looks like the "D" in Kai D now stands for "Discontinued." Bowery Boogie reports that the shop, which opened as a pop-up back in September of 2009, has closed its doors and disconnected its phones. This is the second recent closing for BelDel, as the shopping strip on Orchard below Delancey is known (or would be known, if that nickname had ever fully taken off.) Kai D was only around for about sixteen months, but it outlasted Miss Lonelyhearts, which shuttered on Orchard and Broome after a little over a year.
