UPPER WEST SIDE—The Shophound investigates the state of the Home Goods coming in to big box complex at Columbus Square. "For those who are unfamiliar," he writes, "it is essentially, just like Marshalls or TJ Maxx without all the clothes and accessories. That means it can be either a cavalcade of fantastic kitchenware, bedding and home furnishings bargains, or a giant collection of sad, picked-over off-price merch depending on which day you hit it." [The Shophound]
UPPER WEST SIDE—EMS, which recently opened a Soho outpost, is adding a second location on 76th and Broadway. The two-story spot, on the southeast corner of the intersection, has never had a tenant before. These are heady times in the outdoor-sports business: Modell's is also opening on the Upper West Side and REI is setting up in Noho's Puck building. [NYP]
