New York City has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some of the city's shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around our fantastic island (and beyond) that we might not all know about. Cue The Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Today's subject is Victor Glemaud, a menswear designer known for his killer knits (who also earned his stripes at a publicist at KCD and as Tommy Hilfiger's PR Director). Having moved to the East Village from the South Street Seaport, he let us in on what he will miss the most: Pasanella & Sons, a local wine shop and all around gift store that he frequented on the regular.

"I used to live at the South Street Seaport and I absolutely love this wine shop called Pasanella & Sons on South Street. Pasanella & Sons was my local wine haven. I love the seasonable tables in the front, the inexpensive European options, and the interesting vodka and gin selections. Their advice and decor are also pure perfection, and I loved having my crew of friends over for roasted chicken dinners. Now that I live in the East Village, I try to pop in at least once a month."—Yale Breslin
