Considering revisiting the mega-shoulder-pad look post-Golden Globes? Well, then the Miguelina sale, offering discounts on the Fall 2010 collection, is the place for you. Prices start at $50 for silky tops and top out at $175 for "exclusive" dresses and the items are a varied selection of both season-appropriate pieces and winter-getaway resort items.
The sale, which takes place in the quiet showroom, is organized by price. The $50 section contains a random mix of silky tops, white and gold linen tunic dresses, black maxi skirts, and draped mini-skirts. At the $75 level, there are two racks: One is a mix of silk blazer jackets, the velvet swirl mini, and tuxedo pants. The second is a selection of more elaborate tops, featuring silky pleats and ruffles, delicate lace, mixed metal embellishments, and plush velvet.
There is a selection of summer dresses priced at $95 each and the $125 cocktail and day dress section is definitely worth a look, especially for the strong-shouldered pieces. There are vampy ruched sleeveless mini-dresses in just black and a mix of black and silky fuschia, plus a long-sleeved black version that basically screams Serena van der Woodsen. On the "exclusive dress" rack, higher-end frocks cost $195.
The sizes are random and dependent on style—we saw pieces ranging from extra small to large—and everything is out on the floor. There isn't a designated fitting area, so dress accordingly. Cash and credit are both accepted.
