Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Yesterday, we published a list of five cute guys who also design shoes and asked you all to contribute your own suggestions. One reader took us to task for leaving out Soho's own Alejandro Ingelmo, writing "MAJOR oversight."
Which is fair enough, as the clip below demonstrates. Not only is Ingelmo cute, but he's also a guy who appreciates the power of a strong woman. He tells Out magazine's blog Truman Says that while his father appeared to dominate the family growing up, it was really his mother who ran the show. "The women who's wearing my shoes is definitely confident," he says—not a surprise, given how many towering power-heels he's produced. And Ingelmo's definitely in touch with his feminine side: He told The Cut back in September that he knows what it's like to walk in his platforms, since he tried them one once when an ex-girlfriend dared him.
