Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Alex Dymond, a buyer for skateboard brand Supreme, has collaborated with Marc Jacobs on a shoelace which reads "Jacobs by Marc Jacobs for Marc by Marc Jacobs in Collaboration with Marc Jacobs for Marc by Marc Jacobs". If you read that closely—which, honestly, you probably shouldn't—you'll note that the laces can be found via Marc by Marc and not regular Marc. This is only the beginning of Dymond's attempt to corner the market on designer shoelaces: He's also worked with the artist KAWS's OriginalFake label.
