Happy Fashion Week! This year, we're going to be doing things a little differently at Racked NY. While our sister site Racked National reports on everything you could possibly need to know about what you'll be wearing next spring, we'll be handling the local stuff: Store openings, pop-up shops, parties, sales, and of course Fashion's Night Out. And we're planning to turn into your Fashion Week social secretary, briefing you every morning on the day's most notable shows and public events. Let the games begin!
Today in shows: Lincoln Center gets off to a slow start today, but we're looking forward to Richard Chai (11am) and Christian Siriano (2pm). There's also a 10am show from Project Runway, which we hear is much better this time around; fans should look for reports to appear after lunch. Plus, expect to see major coverage of three editors' favorites: Vena Cava (showing at noon at Milk), Rachel Comey (4pm, Pier 59 Studios), and country-prep Billy Reid (7pm, Milk).
Today in events: The Piperlime pop-up at 93 Mercer Street in Soho starts welcoming customers at 11am. If you're more interested in shopping than in seeing Rachel Zoe, go now before the hordes descend on Fashion's Night Out. Meanwhile, menswear designer Simon Spurr's pop-up opens on 24th Street just west of 10th Avenue.
