Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Threadless has two Chicago stores, but up until now New Yorkers who want to shop their crowd-sourced t-shirt designs—all of which are created and voted on by the site's users—had to do it online. This weekend, though, the company pops up at 186 Orchard Street, an empty storefront between Houston and Stanton that's becoming a go-to site for temporary shops. (You might recall International Playground's residency there last winter.) Drop in between noon and 8pm today through Saturday to find classic tees from the site as well as rarities and the new higher-end Select line. Since these are t-shirts we're talking about here, "higher-end" still means prices around $35, but the inks are eco-friendly and the cottons are pima and organic.
