Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Is the video above basically just fashion blogger Bryanboy shilling for fashion-forward, China-based label JNBY? Well, yes. But it's also a seminar on the art of layering! The brand asked Bryanboy to stop by its Soho store—the only JNBY location in the country—while he was in New York for Fashion Week. The result, as you'll see above, mostly involves Bryanboy picking out things he likes and then trying them on. It's fun if you're trapped at a cubicle and want to experience some vicarious shopping, but our favorite part is the fact that he's somehow able to wear a loose gunmetal gray jacket over a drapey gunmetal gray scarf-turned-cardigan (scardigan?) without looking like a foil-wrapped baked potato.
