There comes a time in many a growing Brooklyn boutique's life when it decides to try its luck on the other side of the river. Call it a coming-of-age ritual—a sort of vision quest or retail Bar Mitzvah, if you will. Smith Street's Epaulet recently received a positive review in Critical Shopper, and its in-house line keeps expanding, so the time has come for it to prove that it has now become a man (or a woman—the shop carries clothing for both sexes, though there's more for guys.)
Next month, Epaulet will pop up at the Reed Space, the rotating concept shop on 151 Orchard between Stanton and Rivington. They'll stay open from October 1st to October 30th and sell a range of exclusive products and collabs, including Gitman Vintage for Epaulet, Epaulet x Staple Design, Nau for Epaulet, Vanson for Epaulet, Thorogood for Epaulet, and Eastland Made in Maine footwear. And they're planning to throw a bunch of parties—stay tuned for more details.
