In honor of the beginning of MIlan Fashion Week and tomorrow's livestream airing of the Anna Dello Russo-styled Moschino Spring/Summer 2011 runway show on their website, we dropped by their West 14th Street boutique for a look-see.
In their giant window, which we've always said resembled an art gallery rather than a store window, they've installed three mannequins with their heads in the clouds, literally. The heads of the mannequins are sculptures, of something like the moon surrounded by clouds, or clouds with faces. Whichever. Either way, it attempts to add an ethereal beauty to the black and white outfits on display. The effect of all this, plus the matte blue backdrop, is quite haunting at dusk.
