Yesterday, the Barneys Warehouse Sale slashed prices further, pushing discounts as low as 75% off the lowest ticketed price. We stopped by last night to give the menswear department one last peruse as it enters its final three-day weekend. Gentlemen: Now's the time to do some damage.
Is the selection as deep? Well, no—lots of those Steven Alan shirts all the boys love so much are very much gone. Burberry Prorsum, Alexander McQueen and Prada are all pretty cleaned out. Belts are a ghost town. Shoes are plentiful but much less so. The cute ties are a lot harder to find. If you're looking for medium-sized sweaters just forget about it. And jeans and casual bottoms in the smallest sizes as well as size 33 are pretty hard to come by.
That said: denim, casual bottoms, selected sports jackets and outerwear are an additional 60% off. Sportswear, designer, sneakers, intimates and accessories are 50% off. The rest of the blazers are 40% off and the rest of the outerwear is reduced 30%; as are ties, suits, trousers and dress shirts. Finally, shoes are 25% off.
There is still a ton of Paul Smith and Marc by Marc Jacobs shirting—you can score them for $35 to $60. We found those Band of Outsiders suits—even at $500 they haven't moved. A fair amount of Levi's bottoms are creeping about along with a smattering of bottoms by Marc, Richard Chai, Rogan, Opening Ceremony and Theory. If you look closely there are a few pairs of Acne jeans as well—they'll ring up for around $40. Swimwear—much of it is now priced around $30—is available by Liberty, Marc and RVCA.
On the fancy racks the additional air is letting bits by Neil Barrett, Etro and Dries van Noten really shine. And shoes: High-tops from Ann Demeulemeester, faux-Converse by Jil Sander, Giorgio Armani wingtips, tonal Vans and Paul Smith everything are still available and in great shape.
So, go get some deals now before there really isn't anything left—yesterday evening was the busiest we saw the sale since opening morning. The bag check had literally run out of tickets! That said, look for additional weekend mark-downs.
