Forget anything you were going to ask for this holiday season—H&M has officially confirmed their next designer collaboration for this November will be with none other than Lanvin.
Lanvin. Lanvin! Announced a week earlier than the blogosphere had expected, this is huge news—it's not typical that a luxury brand opens a gorgeous Madison Avenue boutique and announces a fast-fashion collaboration within weeks of each other. And, as a testament to its incredibility, Lanvin creative director Alber Elbaz himself said "I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public."
Woah. While we're left to ponder what "luxury H&M" could mean and the depressing possibility that the collaborative line could be out of H&M shoppers' (and our) budgets, fans will have to sit tight until a video of the items is unveiled online on November 2.
The collection will hit shelves three weeks later on November 23, and if you have plans to head home to a not-as-manic-about-H&M city for Thanksgiving two days later, consider plopping down some vacation days before it. If you thought people were crazy for shopping the supremely pricey designer boutique by candlelight, just imagine what they'll do for brand exclusives on the cheap. See you in line, folks.
