Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
LOWER EAST SIDE—When Bblessing closed, we were a little worried that the LES had lost its sad-eyed goth torchbearer, but Convent seems more that happy to take up the title. On Wednesday night, they're holding a sale called "The Death of Summer" with pieces from Rick Owens, Skingraft, the Twentyten, and Erre Siete. This is no mere in-store shopping occasion, though: The event doubles as the album release party for Codecracker, it's got an open bar running from 8pm to 10pm, and it takes place at Fat Baby (112 Rivington Street). MANHATTAN—Is the official song of New York Fashion Week Marlene Shaw's "California Soul"? Racked National thinks it might be, since Daniel Vosovic played the Diplo remix at his show and Loden Dager played the original. If anyone hears it again, we've officially got a trend on our hands. [RNA]
