Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Flash bulbs are the drug of choice during New York Fashion Week, for everyone from the models to the editors to the random passers-by outside the shows. Thus, there is much dressing for the camera, hoping that a lens focuses on the flamboyance. Each day during NYFW, we'll bring you the most obvious photog bait, as snapped by us.
We simply call this nice gentleman "Mr. Sherbet Man" as, all throughout fashion week, you'll find him posing for pictures in the plaza at Lincoln Center, wearing a different sherbet-hued ensemble each day. On Thursday, we spied him in Pepto Bismol-pink duds, so it's nice to see that he's moved on to straight orange sherbet, a more palatable color.
We can hardly wait for his mint green day, as it's obvious that this man is aware that it's the Spring/Summer collections being shown.
While we were photographing him along with a few other photogs, he informed everyone that he is a former model and all the magazines come to take his picture at fashion week. He is especially proud of having met a photographer from Esquire, so keep an eye out for him in an upcoming issue, right?
