Monocle's Mini West Village Store Welcomes Customers

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

International magazine Monocle opened its first New York store on Monday in a little space on Hudson and Charles in the West Village. As befits a publication that's obsessed with design, Monocle has carefully planned every inch of the 188-square-foot shop, down to the retractable storefront. The store, which follows Monocle boutiques in London, LA, Tokyo, and Hong King, carries clothing, bags, and various lifestyle goods for the world traveler, including pieces from the magazine's collabs with Oliver Spencer, Tomorrowland, and Ettinger and of course plenty of copies of back issues of Monocle.
