After 20 years of selling her linens line Area via other stores, Anki Spets just opened her own Greenwich Village boutique. The shop, at 11th and Broadway, carries all manner of bedding as well as kitchen tools by Spets's husband, Magnus Lundstrom. Ironically, the recession is what inspired Spets to become a store owner. “A lot of my retail outlets closed in the past couple years,” she told the Times. “Which meant the time was right for me to open a retail store.” [NYT]
