SOHO—Madewell is offering fans a chance to bring in slightly worn or new shoes to the Denim After Dark event on tomorrow, August 5, in order to get 20% off cute Bensimon shoes. The donated footwear will go to Soles4Souls, a Nashville-based charity that has collected over 10 million shoes since 2005, redistributing them to people in need in more than 125 countries including Kenya, Thailand, Nepal and the U.S. While you're at the store, check out their jean stock discounted 20 percent— all usually around $100. We love the Skinny Ankle Jeans and the Rail Straight Pant, especially with snazzy Bensimon sneakers (originally $55!)—Joann Pan
TIMES SQUARE—Writes a reader of the Betsey Johnson sale: "Know why there are almost no shoes left and the selection of dresses is severely depleted? Hoarders. One man had a stack of about 12 boxes of shoes and there was a pile of dresses in the corner next to the jewelry. The owner of the pile came by with even more merch and was busily chatting on her cell phone about the items in her ever-growing pile. Hoarders. Worse than bedbugs." [Racked Comments]
