Two of our favorite things in the world—Glee's Sue Sylvester and retail therapy—have intersected. On Sunday, while watching Ryan Seacrest and friends schmooze with the spiffed-up stars on the Emmys Red Carpet, we were blown away by a radiant and beautifully outfitted Jane Lynch (congratulations on the Emmy, by the way!). While discussing her ensemble, Jane pointed out that her diamond brooch was from her "sister-in-law's line Doyle & Doyle". Wait—what? The ridiculously awesome Sue Sylvester is somehow related to Doyle & Doyle, the vintage and contemporary jewelry shop on Orchard Street?
A close up of the Emmys brooch
We know that Jane has been rocking some serious bling from Doyle & Doyle lately, from the matching platinum and diamond twisted wedding bands to the full-on three-piece set (the brooch, a diamond and platinum bracelet, and diamond and pearl drop earrings) for the Emmys. Turns out that Jane's wife, Laura Embry, is sister-in-law to one of the owners, Pamela Doyle—thereby making Jane the sister-in-law (and top supporter) of Doyle & Doyle.
A shop source says that Jane frequently borrows pieces from the shop and the recent award winner will have lots more red carpet events to attend in the future. In the meantime, we'll just be hanging out on Orchard Street wearing a track suit and sipping a slushy, patiently waiting for a Sue Sylvester sighting.
