SOHO AND THE WEST VILLAGE—What do disgraced fictional baseball legend Kenny Powers and a bunch of preppy Ivy undergrads in 1965 have in common? They're both part of promotional campaigns by K.Swiss, which is bolstering its ads featuring the star of HBO comedy Eastbound and Down with a slightly more under-the-radar project involving collegiate style bible Take Ivy. After years as a cult menswear hit, the book is about to be re-released, and K.Swiss has paired up with Jack Spade to sell it bundled with a limited-edition sweatshirt and an old-school book belt. The whole thing costs $245 and comes in a gift box; check it out online right here. [Videogum; Jack Spade]
EVERYWHERE—Among the many, many Fashion's Night Out festivities planned for this year is a one-hour CBS special about everything that goes on behind the scenes. The show will follow big names like Oscar de la Renta, Diane von Furstenberg, Justin Timberlake, Tory Burch, and Anna Wintour as they organize and execute this year's events, from Anna's early planning meetings in Paris to the September 7 runway show to the night itself, September 10. If the thought of all this gives you fashion fatigue, then you might enjoy the fact that the evening's host isn't one of the usual industry suspects. Instead of Tim Gunn or Joe Zee or Rachel Zoe, the show will be hosted by one Neil Patrick Harris. Tune in September 14 at 10pm on CBS to watch. [Racked Inbox]
