Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

SOHO—Did you know Sanrio just turned 50? To celebrate, they've collaborated with A Bathing Ape on a collection of clothing, shoes, and accessories starring popular Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty, My Melody, and the little monkey they created with the Bape folks, Baby Milo. Tomorrow, the Bape store on Greene Street launches a Baby Milo pop-up with pieces from the collection. This is the first time any of these items have been released in the US, so it's a big deal. Check out some of the merchandise, above. [Racked Inbox]

SOHO—All month, the Pleats Please store on Wooster street has been closed for the first redesign since its 1998 debut. At the grand re-opening, on Fashion's Night Out, Issey Miyake fans will find an airy new space complete with convertible dressing rooms and translucent display cases. Until then, find the collection at the Issey Miyake flagship on Hudson Street. [Racked Inbox]
