The sun is shining and people are smiling, so it's a perfect day to check in on the progress of the Fashion Week set-up in Damrosch Park at Lincoln Center. However, we felt immediate despair upon arriving and realizing that we'd just missed a rehearsal for Fashion's Night Out: The Show (a.k.a. the largest public fashion show in New York City history). Doh! We arrived to see police pulling down barriers, random chairs still scattered about the Plaza, and stagehand union workers still basking in the afterglow of it all.
The set-up in Damrosch Park has really progressed since the rainy Monday morning when we last checked. It looks like three tents are up and there is a ginormous scaffolding tower requiring three workers on three cranes to do, uh, something up there. Judging from the size and location, it's possible that it could be some sort of massive projection screen or backdrop. In the meantime, we'll be continuously checking in, so stay tuned for more on the progress.
