Last night's Confessions of Three Shopaholics sale, in which three amateur fashion lovers sold off their designer goods for cheap, didn't get the best reviews in our comments section. One commenter said the selection was small, while another compared it to "someone's garage sale" and reported spotting (horrors!) Banana Republic and French Connection on the racks.
The organizers, however, argue that the low-end items were confined to a small $10 section, adding that they wound up supplementing the bags they told us about with more purses from Fendi and Chanel. They also told us that the evening was such big success that they plan to donate some of the proceeds to God's Love We Deliver, a charity that provides food for people with HIV/AIDS and other serious illnesses. (For the other ways they're going to spend the money, check out this Paper interview.) A follow-up sale focusing on shoes and accessories is also in the works.
