Raid Three Fashionistas' Closets For Cheap Tomorrow Night

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Man, we hope this becomes the new pop-up shop trend: three girlfriends have banded together to declutter their closets by selling their new and used designer clothing, footwear, bags and accessories at a one-night-only sale tomorrow evening from 5pm-9pm. All 700 items for sale—they must each have one hell of a closet for a New York apartment —are up to 95% off retail prices.

When you've got this many things to sell off, you can't blame them for not wanting to drag hundreds of wares through the Beacon's Closet selection process. Thankfully for us, they're offering it all up at once—the shoes, 150 pairs in all, range from sizes 5-10 and clothing is available in sizes 0 to 10. Prices range between $10 and $400, and the brand list is crazy.

Louis Vuitton, Manolo Blahnik, Chanel, Prada, Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu and Pierre Hardy are only some of the high-end designers featured, and brands like Elie Tahari, Diane Von Furstenburg, Theory and Cynthia Steffe are also on the racks.

This isn't your typical bait-and-switch offering like every stoop sale claiming designer goods, either—from the preview photos, the shoe selection is as high-end as they claim. Just try not to get any nose marks on your work computer from trying to peek too closely.
